The BSE Sensex opened 24.25 points up at 28,232.87, while NSE Nifty index opened 2 points up at 8,668.30. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,114 down 94 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,654 down 16 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.76% at 12,668, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.43% at 12,334. Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Axis Bank, Lupin, M&M and Cipla are among the gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Wipro, L&T, HDFC, HDFC Bank and Infosys are losing sheen on BSE.

Some buying activity is seen in auto, pharma, metal, oil & gas, FMCG and realty sectors, while telecom, IT, consumer durables, capital goods, banking and teck showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 0.46% at 15.0775. Out of 1,836 stocks traded on the NSE, 438 declined, 1,042 advanced and 356 remained unchanged today.

A total of 50 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The rupee opened flat at 67.04/$ against US Dollar Friday as against the previous close of 67.04/$.

The BSE Sensex opened 84.45 points up at 28108.78, while Nifty 50 index opened 21.15 points up at 8,636.95. Investors will also eye developments at Bank of Japan and speculate on how much stimulus would be pumped in to rescue the ailing economy. The chances of GST getting passed in Parliament increased after the government chose to drop the 1 pc manufacturing tax. States may take comfort with the compensation offered for any revenue loss in the first five years of rollout.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,107 up 83 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,637 up 22 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.48% at 12,556, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.80% at 12,306.

Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki, Coal India, Power Grid, Bajaj Auto and ITC are among the gainers, whereas Infosys, L&T, Wipro, HUL, HDFC and Tata Motors are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in realty, telecom, consumer discretionary, industrial and consumer durables sectors, while IT, capital goods and teck showing weakness on BSE.

The INDIA VIX is down 1.03% at 15.2675. Out of 1,836 stocks traded on the NSE, 438 declined, 1,042 advanced and 356 remained unchanged today. A total of 54 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,110 up 86 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,631 up 14 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.16% at 12,516, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.59% at 12,281.

The INDIA VIX is up 0.30% at 15.4750. Out of 1,822 stocks traded on the NSE, 408 declined, 1,029 advanced and 385 remained unchanged today. A total of 36 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 7 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Asian markets are trading mixed. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 dropped 0.7%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is trading in red. US stocks closed mixed Wednesday. The US Fed kept interest rates unchanged. Dow Jones Industrial Average was near flat at 18,472.17 points. The S&P 500 index closed 0.12% lower at 2,166.58 points, while the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.58% at 5,139.81 points.

The Union cabinet has increased the foreign shareholding limit in Indian stock exchanges from 5% to 15%, as announced in the budget, bringing investments by foreign entities on par with those by domestic institutions. Also, the cabinet approved key changes to the Constitution amendment bill for goods and services tax (GST), doing away with 1% additional levy on supply of goods, and proposing full compensation to states for five years for revenue loss arising from transition to GST.

Sensex, Nifty To Open On A Flat Note

The indices are set to open on a flat note. Asian markets are trading mixed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng and Nikkei 225 are trading higher. Shanghai Composite is trading in red. The focus will remains on the Federal Reserve, with concludes its two-day policy meeting later in the day.

US equity markets closed mixed note. The Dow Jones industrial average dipped 0.1% to 18,473.75 and the S&P 500 edged up 0.03% to 2,169.18. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.24% to 5,110.05. 

The government seems to be in a better position now regarding the unified tax regime in the country as the empowered panel of state finance ministers managed a broad consensus on key issues regarding GST with the Finance Minister. The Congress will be upset that GST rate would be kept out of the Constitution. But others aren’t complaining much except on an issue of compensation to states. Companies announcing their numbers today include Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, HDFC, YES Bank.

Raghuram Rajan on Tuesday staunchly defended his record in curbing inflation and cleaning up bad debt at banks, and he called on the government to protect the central bank's independence.

Finally, the BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 48 points at 28,024. The BSE Sensex opened at 27,976 touched an intra-day high of 28,211 and low of 27,899.93. The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 25 points at 8,616. The NSE Nifty opened at 8,599.40 hitting a high of 8,665 and low of 8,572.

The Indian stock markets drop in early noon deals with healthcare, metal, realty and FMCG stocks among the leading decliners. The S&P BSE Sensex, hitting its highest level in more than 11 months and the Nifty 50 index hitting its highest level in more than 15 months.  Japanese stocks rebounded from Tuesday's sell-off as most Asian markets waffled today ahead of key central bank decisions as well as major earnings reports due in Japan and South Korea.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,957 down 19 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,585 down down 5 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.13% at 12,437, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.22% at 12,176.50. ICICI Bank,  Maruti, Adani Ports, HDFC, Tata Motors, TCS and Bharti Airtel are among the gainers, whereas Dr.Reddy's, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Lupin, Coal India, ONGC, ITC, Wipro and RIL are losing sheen on BSE.

Some buying activity is seen in telecom, banking, auto and industrial sectors, while pharma, metal, realty and FMCG showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 0.51% at 15.5400. Out of 1,842 stocks traded on the NSE, 898 declined, 649 advanced and 295 remained unchanged today.

Some buying activity is seen in consumer durables, oil and gas, utilities, IT, basic materials, metal and power sectors, while telecom, realty, auto, banking and FMCG are showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is up 1.03% at 15.8800. Out of 1,841 stocks traded on the NSE, 707 declined, 816 advanced and 318 remained unchanged today.

A total of 93 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Amtek Auto surged 13.7% to Rs.54.60 on BSE. The company has expanded its planned asset sale to include additional overseas businesses as it looks to reduce leverage, as per media reports.

Bajaj Finance Ltd jumped 4% to Rs.9,335 after the company posted a net profit of Rs.424 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs.276 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. The company's total income has increased from Rs.1655.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 to Rs.2301.1 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016.

A total of 89 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Himalya International climbed 17% to Rs.10.71 on BSE. The company reported net loss at Rs.0.4 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs. 3.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. The company's total income has increased by 15.1% at Rs.28.9 crore for the quarter against Rs.25.1 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Future Enterprises gained 4.4% to Rs.20 on BSE. The company experienced a spurt in volumes by more than 3.25 times. Amtek Auto surged 8.5% to Rs.52.10 on BSE. The company has expanded its planned asset sale to include additional overseas businesses as it looks to reduce leverage, as per media reports.

The INDIA VIX is up 3.64% at 16.0625. Out of 1,839 stocks traded on the NSE, 421 declined, 1,135 advanced and 284 remained unchanged today. A total of 81 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Alok Industries Ltd jumped 5% to Rs.4.38. The company is considering restructuring of over Rs.18,000 crore debt under S4A (scheme for sustainable structuring of stressed assets), as per media reports. M&M Financial Services tumbled 3.8% to Rs.309. Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services has reported a marginal rise in consolidated net profit at Rs.107.64 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. Mphasis gained 1% to Rs.546. The company posted a net profit of Rs.2043.43 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2016. Total Income is Rs.15739.53 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2016.
