The Indian stock market rally for the sixth consecutive session. The Sensexgained over 200 points to hit fresh 2016 high in morning deal. The BSE Sensex opened 169.53 points up at 27314.44 while, NSE Nifty opened 48.40 points up at 8,376.75.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,317 up 172 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,379 up 50 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.76% at 11,947 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.76% at 11,991. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.68% at 11,938 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.01% at 12,006.

ONGC, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, SBI, Infosys and RIL are among the gainers, whereas ITC, HUL, HeroMoto Corp and Bajaj-Auto are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in oil&gas, industrial, IT, telecom, metal, telecom, pharma, and banking sectors on BSE. Only FMCG sector is in red on BSE.

The INDIA VIX is down 0.39% at 15.6750. Out of 1,830 stocks traded on the NSE, 455 declined, 1,109 advanced and 266 remained unchanged today. A total of 92 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Punjab National Bank zoomed 6.2% to Rs.112. The bank declared its marginal cost of funds based lending rate (MCLR) for one year at 9.40 per cent.

Tata Motors climbed 3.1% to Rs.472 on BSE. The company's LCV sales grew by 14% in the month of June 2016 and its passenger cars growing by 22%. The company’s total passenger and commercial (including exports) in July 2016 were at 44,276 vehicles, a growth of 8%, over 40,869 vehicles sold in June 2015.
