The BSE Sensex opened 104 points up at 27912.14, while NSE Nifty opened 19.40 points up at 8540.45. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,815 up mere seven points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,517 down four points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.60% at 12,044, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.65% at 12,002.

ONGC, Tata Steel, GAIL, Coal India, TCS and RIL are among the gainers, whereas PowerGrid, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, Lupin, Tata Motors and Axis Bank are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in metal, oil & gas, energy and IT sectors, while realty, power, industrial, banking, pharma, consumer durables, auto and consumer discretionary sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 3.02% at 15.2300. Out of 1,827 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,084 declined, 483 advanced and 260 remained unchanged today. A total of 56 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Sun Pharma has announced that effective August 2016, Abhay Gandhi will take over as CEO, North America Business. Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 790.9, up by Rs. 7.15 or 0.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 783.75 on the BSE.
