The India stock market opened marginally higher on Friday. The BSE Sensex opened 11.20 points up at 27,721, while NSE Nifty opened 9.55 points up at 8,519. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,803 up 92 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,541 up 31 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.98% at 12,227, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.81% at 12,107.
ITC, GAIL, Power Grid, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, L&T and M&M are among the gainers, whereas SBI, Tata Steel, Infosys, Wipro, Bajaj Auto, Coal India, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Axis Bank and Adani Ports are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in utilities, power, auto, capital goods, consumer durables and realty sectors, while metal, banking, IT, finance, oil & gas, energy and teck are showing weakness on BSE.
