The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 23,704 up 322 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,203 up 95 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.29% at 9,878, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.51% at 9,951.
Dr.Reddy's, L&T, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, ONGC and Axis Bank are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Prime Property and Shetron are losing sheen on BSE. All sectors are trading in green on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 3.46% at 21.0750. Out of 1764 stocks traded on the NSE, 208 declined,1,170 advanced and 386 remained unchanged today. A total of one stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while eight stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Indian Rupee opened higher by 8 paise at 68.39/$ in early trade on Thursday as against the previous close of 68.47/$. On Wednesday, Indian rupee extended the weakness against the greenback, with values tumbling to 30 month lows. However, the domestic unit managed to pare losses at the end of the session, helped by recovery in equity markets.
