The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 23,023 down 66 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 6,990 down 28 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.76% at 9,582, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.59% at 9,629.
Coal India, HDFC, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Cipla, M&M and HDFC Bank are among the gainers, whereas GAIL, SBI, Adani Ports, Bajaj-Auto, Infosys, ICICI Bank and Wipro are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in metal and FMCG sectors, while IT, telecom, utilities, power and realty sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 2.26% at 22.4350. Out of 1,791 stocks traded on the NSE, 924 declined, 908 advanced and 304 remained unchanged today. A total of eight stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 114 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
