The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,851 up 144 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,862 up 33 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.06% at 10,565, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.01% at 10,735. Some buying activity is seen in pharma, banking, IT, auto and metal sectors, while capital goods, consumer durables and oil&gas sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 4.83% at 22.59. Out of 1,730 stocks traded on the NSE, 511 declined and 847 advanced today. Hero MotoCorp, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Wipro amnd Vedanta are among the gainers, whereas Bhel, L&T, NTPC, ONGC, Dr. Reddy's Lab and Tata Motors are losing sheen on BSE.
