Sensex Jumps 400 Points; Banking, Capital Goods Stocks Lead

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,406 up 442 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,035 up 136 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.54% at 10,715, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.43% at 10,838. All sectors are in green on NSE. The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 15.80% at 18.52. Out of 1,722 stocks traded on the NSE, 223 declined and 1,162 advanced today.

Axis Bank, M&M, ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC Bank, Lupin, Hero MotoCorp and ONGC are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, GAIL and HUL are losing sheen on BSE. PTC India Financial Services Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 41.45, up by 2.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 40.6 on the BSE. The company approved Rs. 1,000 crore loan for Renewable Energy projects. Suzlon Energy gained 2% after the company has approved the allotment of 3.53 crore equity shares worth Rs. 54.58 crore to its bond holders. 8K Miles Software Services rallied 1% after the company has entered into a Stock Purchase Agreement with NexAge Technologies USA, Inc.
