Sensex Rallies Over 250 Points; Banking, Consumer Durable Stocks Gain

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,888 up 263 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,866 up 54 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.26% at 10,552, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.52% at 10,859.

The India VIX (Volatility index) is up 2.16% at 20.78. Vedanta, M&M, ITC, HDFC Bank, Lupin and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, BHEL, Wipro, Bajaj -Auto and GAIL are losing sheen on BSE.

Around 11 stocks have rallied to register a fresh 52-week high on the NSE counter, while 31 stocks have hit 52-week low. Out of 1,732 stocks have traded on the NSE – 835 stocks have advanced, while 291 stocks have declined.
