The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,805 down 52 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,844 down 28 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.44% at 10,606, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.26% at 10,765. The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 1.87% at 23.86. Out of 1,733 stocks traded on the NSE, 846 declined and 605 advanced today.
Tech Mahindra, Power Grid, NTPC, Cairn India, Sun Pharma, HUL and Maruti Suzuki are among the gainers, whereas Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Ambuja Cement and L&T are losing sheen on NSE. Maruti Suzuki continues to trade on a positive note on the BSE, after the RBI has allowed foreign investors to invest up to 40% of the paid up capital under the Portfolio Investment Scheme.
