The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,766 down 90 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,832 down 38 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.18% at 10,634, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.01% at 10,794. The India VIX (Volatility) index is up 0.38% at 24.41.
Cairn India, Maruti Suzuki, Tech Mahindra, ITC, Power Grid, HUL, Yes Bank and ONGC are among the gainers, whereas Vedanta, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Ambuja Cement, Bank of Baroda, Kotak Bank and L&T are losing sheen on NSE. Maruti Suzuki continues to trade on a positive note on the BSE, after the RBI has allowed foreign investors to invest up to 40% of the paid up capital under the Portfolio Investment Scheme.
