The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,747 up 150 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,884 up 35 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.56% at 11,206, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.68% at 11,108.
ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Cipla, SBI and L&T are among the gainers, whereas HUL, Dr.Reddy's, HDFC Bank, Apollo Tyres and Naukri are losing sheen on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 2.94% at 16.4625. Out of 1,760 stocks traded on the NSE, 297 declined, 1,016 advanced and 447 remained unchanged today.
A total of 24 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 8 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The Indian rupee opened lower by 8 paise at 66.63/$ against US Dollar on Thursday as against the previous close of 66.55/$. Investors will keep an eye on India’s inflation numbers due today. CPI reading for April is expected at 5% (yoy basis), marginally higher when compared with 4.83% during the prior month.
