The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,633 up 327 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,853 up 105 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.60% at 11,040, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.73% at 10,931.
Axis Bank, Tata Motors, L&T, BHEL, ICICI Bank, NTPC, TCS and Adani Ports are among the gainers, whereas Cipla, Coal India, GSFC, Cipla, Amara Raja and Redington India are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in realty, IT, industrial, banking, auto, utilities and telecom sectors, while pharma sector is showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 6.82% at 15.1125. Out of 1,771 stocks traded on the NSE, 275 declined, 1,064 advanced and 432 remained unchanged today. A total of 12 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while nine stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The Indian rupee opened higher by 12 paise at 67.63/$ against US Dollar on Wednesday as against the previous close of 67.75/$. The rupee opened higher on increased selling of the US currency by exporters and banks amid higher opening in the domestic equity market.
