The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,574 down 131 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,829 down 41 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.11% at 11,215, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.29% at 11,201.
Tata Motors, Lupin, Piramal Enterprises, JK Lakshmi Cement, Delta Corp, Balkrishna Industries and Indiabulls Real Estate are among the gainers, whereas ITC, ONGC, SBI, Bharti Airtel, HDFC, NTPC, Axis Bank and Asian Paints are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in metal, realty, pharma, industrial and basic materials sectors, while telecom, auto, banking, IT, industrial, FMCG and IT sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is up 2.62% at 16.8875. Out of 1,808 stocks traded on the NSE, 652 declined, 763 advanced and 393 remained unchanged today.
A total of 35 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 16 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The Indian rupee opened lower by 18 paise at 67.15/$ against US Dollar on Thursday as against the previous close of 66.97/$. The rupee breaches to 67-mark. The rupee fell against US Dollar on persistent dollar demand from banks and importers on the back of higher greenback in the overseas market.
Tata Power trading flat at Rs.70.05. The company has announced that the company's subsidiary, TPREL has won two solar grid connecttion photovoltaic projects of 50 MW capacity in Karnataka.
