The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,394 down 213 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,795 down 55 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.18% at 11,062, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.21% at 10,997.
Lupin, Axis Bank, RIL and ONGC are among the gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, Dr.Reddy's, NTPC, Wipro and Adani Ports are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in oil and gas, consumer durables, metal and basic materials sectors, while banking, capital goods, realty, telecom, IT and auto sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 5.04% at 17.3725. Out of 1,790 stocks traded on the NSE, 828 declined, 540 advanced and 422 remained unchanged today. A total of 18stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 8 paise at 66.41/$ against US Dollar on Monday as against the previous close of 66.33/$. The local unit had hit a high of 66.72 and a low of 66.74.
