The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,825 up 100 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,197 up 18 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.24% at 11,414, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.15% at 11,174.
Tata Motors, BHEL, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Adani Ports, Bajaj-Auto and Tata Steel are among the gainers, whereas Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, GAIL, L&T, Infosys and Wipro are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in auto, industrial, consumer durables, banking, FMCG, finance and power sectors, while telecom, pharma, IT, teck and capital goods are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 0.35% at 16.0325. Out of 1,774 stocks traded on the NSE, 631 declined, 725 advanced and 418 remained unchanged today. A total of 13 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher by 1 paise at 67.15/$ against US Dollar on Tuesday as against the previous close of 67.16/$.Today, markets look forward to India Q4 (FY15‐16) GDP reading, wherein expectations call for a growth of 7.5% (yoy).
