The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,037 up 105 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,175 up 23 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.23% at 11,072, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.82% at 11,391.
All sectoral indices are trading in green except teck is down on BSE. The India VIX (Volatility index) is up 0.80% at 19.46. Vedanta is the top percentage Nifty gainer - up 4% at Rs. 140.
Indian Rupee today opened at 65.30/$ higher by 11 paise in early trade on influenced by demand for the greenback from importers and traders. However, strength in domestic equities and foreign inflows in capital markets limited the downside in Indian rupee. Out of 1,733 stocks traded on the NSE, 435 declined and 1,009 advanced today.
A total of 37 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Shares of Dabur India were trading higher 1% at Rs. 279 on NSE today. Around 47 lakh shares were traded in a single block.
Shares of Glenmark Pharemaceuticals were trading lower 2% at Rs. 1,043.50 on BSE today. According to the reports, Delhi High Court restrains Glenmark Pharmaceuticals from manufacturing and selling its anti-diabetes drugs.
