Sensex, Nifty In Red; Banking, Oil & Gas Stocks Drag

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,433 down 37 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,278 down 17 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.32% at 11,103, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.45% at 11,468.

Some buying activity is seen in auto, capital goods, fmcg and IT sectors, while banking, oil & gas,metal, teck, realty and consumer durables sectors are showing weakness on BSE.The India VIX (Volatility) index is up 6.45% to 17.23.

A total of 28 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Out of 1,752 stocks traded on the NSE, 967 declined and 506 advanced today.

BHEL, Bajaj-Auto,Vedanta, Tata Steel,Maruti Suzuki,Hero MotoCorp, Hindalco, L&T and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas Coal India, Bharti Airtel, Lupin, RIL, M&M and HDFC Bank are losing sheen on BSE.
