The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,027 up 94 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,169 up 10 16 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.13% at 11,061, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.49% at 11,310.
Some buying activity is seen in auto, metal, consumer durable, oil and gas, fmcg and realty sectors, while IT, pharma, capital goods and teck sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The India VIX (Volatility index) is up 1.29% at 19.55. Vedanta is the top percentage Nifty gainer - up 3.8% at Rs. 89.35.
Out of 1,736 stocks traded on the NSE, 523 declined and 961 advanced today. A total of 45 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
