Sensex Slips Over 100 Points; IT, Pharma Stocks Drag

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,767 down 137 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,106 down 38 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.063% at 10,961, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.35% at 11,390.

Some buying activity is seen in realty and power sectors, while IT, banking, pharma, teck, oil & gas and metal sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 4.9% to 18.18. Out of 1,747 stocks traded on the NSE, 599 declined and 852 advanced today.

Bajaj-Auto, BHEL, Coal India, ITC, Maruti Suzuki, NTPC and Axis Bank are among the gainers, whereas ONGC, Hindalco, Infosys, Vedanta, Tata Steel, GAIL, Sun Pharma and Bharti Airtel are losing sheen on BSE.

Jet Airways and SpiceJet trading higher on BSE. SpiceJet has unveiled an all new winter schedule, with 291 daily flight from the current 250 daily flights, adding 10 new sectors, 30 new frequencies and 22 connecting flights. Currently, the stock has gained 7.6% to Rs.33.45 on BSE. Jet Airways rallied 3.7% at Rs. 341.40. 

DCB Bank were trading higher 1% at Rs. 139 on BSE today. The bank is scheduled to announce its September quarter earnings today.
