Nifty and Sensex continue to trade close to their day highs as PSU Banks and Realty stocks offer strong push.PSU Banks, Telecom and Realty sector gain by over 3%, keeping Nifty and Sensex in the green while IT, Auto, Pharma, and Utilities stocks dry to drag the market down. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank among the active stocks to report gains of 8.5% and 4.8% respectively.
At 1:58 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,587 up by 374 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,429 up by 94 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.29% at 16,636.55 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.67% at 17,717.75.
Bharti Airtel, SBI Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and HDFC are among the gainers, whereas Dr Reddy, UPL, Zee Entertainment, TCS, and EicherMotors are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen in Realty, Metal, Banks, Telecom, and Basic Materials sectors, whereas Healthcare, Utilities, Power, IT and Consumer Durables sectors show weakness on the BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 2.83% at 12.08 .
Out of 1,948 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,010 advanced, 671 declined, and 294 remained unchanged today.
A total of 128 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
