Sensex and Nifty ended trade on a positive note for the second session this week, after Pharma stocks bloomed.
Sensex and Nifty end trade in positive for the second-straight session. Both the indices touched new highs within the day, only to retreat after profit booking. The markets gained on the back of strong Pharma index. Dr Reddy led the Pharma sector, gaining over 5%.
Sensex closed at 33,478 up 118 points, while Nifty ended trade at 10,326 up 28 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is closed higher by 0.10% at 16,794, whereas BSE Small-cap Index ended trade at 17,813, up 0.37% .
On the BSE, Healthcare, Telecom, and Consumer Durables sectors gained, while FMCG,Finance, Bank and Realty showed weakness.
India Vix gained 2.10% to trade at 13.71 level.
Among the 1,982 stocks being traded, 932 advanced, 754 declined and 296 remained unchanged.
A total of 95 stocks have touched 52-week high, while 15 stocks dipped to 52-week low since morning on the NSE.
Closing Bell: Gainers: Dr. Reddy’s (+5%), Sun Pharma (+4%), Tech Mahindra (+3.5%). Losers: Indiabulls HF, Coal India (-2%), ITC (-1%).
Ajanta Pharma gets USFDA final approves for clonidine hydrochloride. Stock up 1%.
Nifty Realty Index down 1%. Indiabulls Real Estate, DLF (-3%), HDIL (-2%), Sobha, Prestige (-1%).
RCom stock rallies 11% on real estate assets sale buzz.
