Nifty drops below the 10,150 level as Metal Index weakens with Jindal losing over 5%.
Sensex loses over 120 points while Nifty drops below the 10,150 mark as the Metal Index dips by 2%, followed by Pharma (-1%) and FMCG (-1.5%). Jindal steel loses around 5% to drag the metal index down, while poor results of Sun Pharma dips the stock by 3.5%, causing the Pharma sector to weaken. IT stocks gain marginally with Tech Mahindra and TCS gaining by 2% and 1% respectively.


the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,819 down by 122 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,141 down by 45 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.21% at 16,460 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading lower by 0.42% at 17,466.

Some buying seen in IT, Teck sectors, while basic materials, FMCG, Healthcare, Utilities, Consumer Durables sectors show weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is down by 0.03% at 14.16.

Out of 1,979 stocks traded on the NSE, 576 advanced, 1,082 declined, and 321 remained unchanged today.

A total of 41 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 31 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.


Nifty FMCG Index dips 1.5%. Godrej Ind (-3%), Marico, ITC (-2%), Dabur, HUL (-1%).

Tyre shares gain as rubber price falls in international markets. TVS Srichakra (+4.5%), MRF (+3%), CEAT (+4%), JK Tyre (+1%). 

REC signs loan pact for Jharkhand thermal power project. Stock down 3%.

Panacea Biotech in pact with technology development board for financial assistance of Rs 30 Cr. Stock jumps 7%.

Odisha pollution body lets Vedanta resume remaining 2 power unit ops. Stock down 2.5%.

Merck stock at 1-month high as Jul-Sep PAT up 11.2%.
