Nifty Hovers Around 10,400 Mark; IT Stocks Lead

Gains in index heavyweight Infosys, ITC, RIL, Kotak Mahindra Bank and TCS added to the upward trajectory
The key Indian equity indices were trading higher in the afternoon session led gains by IT and auto index. The Nifty IT index, up for a second session with Infosys leading the gains, was one of the top gainers among sectoral index.

Gains in index heavyweight Infosys, ITC, RIL, Kotak Mahindra Bank and TCS added to the upward trajectory.

the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 33,693, up 105 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,391, up 43 points.

The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.48%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index advanced 0.58%. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex.

IndusInd Bank, Infosys, HPCL, Aurobindo Pharma and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers, while Hindalco, Vedanta, UPL, Tata Steel and Wipro lost the most in the Nifty50 index.

Some buying was seen in IT, FMCG, pharma, auto, realty, media and FMCG sectors, while metal and PSU Bank are showing weakness on the NSE.

India VIX fell by 2.39% at 13.53 level.

Out of 1,985 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,031 advanced, 634 declined, and 320 remained unchanged today.

A total of 94 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while nine stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Jai Corp stock up 15% in afternoon trade. Stock is up over 56% in 5 trading sessions.

DB Realty stock falls 2% as Bank of India takes possession of four assets.

Indian Hume Pipe gets order worth Rs 119.73 Cr. Stock gains 3%.

MT Educare stock surges 7% after Visa Capital buys stake.
