Mid-caps were seen outperforming larger peers with the BSE MidCap Index advancing 0.48% and the BSE SmallCap Index rising 0.64%.
Indian equity benchmarks were trading firmly higher led by gains in index heavyweights Reliance Industries, Infosys and HDFC.
Infosys, Infratel, IndusInd Bank, GAIL and Aurobindo Pharma were the top gainers, while Hindalco, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Adani Ports and ONGC lost the most in the Nifty50 index.
On the political front, Winter Session of Parliament will be held from December 15 to January 5.
the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 33,688, up 100 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,391, up 43 points.

Some buying was seen in IT, pharma, auto, PSU Bank, realty, media and FMCG sectors, while metal is showing weakness on the NSE.
India VIX down by 0.75% at 13.76 level.
Out of 1,984 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,117 advanced, 519 declined, and 348 remained unchanged today.
A total of 81 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while eight stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Infy further extend gains as it nearing its highest level since Aug 18, 2017, just shy of fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,045 last hit on Jan 13, 2017.
eClerx stock zooms 2%. Trading volume was 43.7 times its 20-day average.
Banking stocks gain after IBC Amendment. IndusInd Bank (+2%), PNB, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank (+1%).
RIL stock rises 1%, completes sale of upstream assets in Pennsylvania.
Swaraj Engines stock zooms 14.5% as board to mull share buyback on Nov 28.
