Nifty and Sensex catch the down trend as weakness is shown across several sectors including Telecom, Energy, Oil & Gas and Reality. Bharti Airtel loses by almost 4% dragging the telecom sector.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,218 down by 151 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,303, down by 47 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is closed down by 0.77% at 16416.61 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is ended trade down by 0.96% at 17497.99.

Cipla,Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Vedanta Ltd, Tata Motors, Lupin, and YES Bank are losing steam on NSE.

Some buying seen in IT and Teck sector, whereas Metals, Telecom, Energy, Oil & Gas sectors reported weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is up by 2.81% at 13.61.

Out of 1,975 stocks traded on the NSE, 576 advanced, 1,094 declined, and 305 remained unchanged today.

A total of 60 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
