The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,882 up 31 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,873 up mere seven points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.31% at 11,022, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 11,717.
Some buying activity is seen in metal, oil & gas, telecom, auto, FMCG and energy sectors, while IT, teck, banking and finance sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
Coal India, ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, Lupin, NTPC, ITC, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, TCS, RIL and Axis Bank are losing sheen on BSE.
The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 0.27% to 13.61. Out of 1,743 stocks traded on the NSE, 444 declined and 927 advanced today. A total of 36 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while four stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
