The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,273 up 237 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,683 up 71 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.42% at 10,652, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.78% at 11,253.
Some buying activity is seen in capital goods, oil & gas, metals, IT, FMCG and energy sectors, while pharma, banking and auto sectors are showing weakness on BSE. GAIL, RIL, NTPC, Hindalco, HDFC, ONGC, Cipla and Dr.Reddy's are among the gainers, whereas M&M, Lupin, Maruti Suzuki, SBI, Tata Motors and BHEL are losing sheen on BSE.
The India VIX (Volatility) index down 2.72% to 16.2700. Out of 1,757 stocks traded on the NSE, 504 declined and 988 advanced today. A total of 11 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 42 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
