Sensex gains by nearly 200 points and Nifty hits all time high in the beginnig of the Diwali Week, with metal, telecom, and auto sectors giving an upward push.
At 10:28 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,615, up by 182 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,226 up by 59 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.53% at 16,051.63 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.68% at 17,041.
Bharti Airtel, Infratel, Vedanta Limited, Tata Motors, and Aurobindo Pharma are among the gainers, whereas Indusland Bank, Wipro, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra, and Zee Entertainment are losing steam on NSE.
Godrej Agrovet settles at Rs 615.6/sh vs issue price of Rs 460/sh.
OMCs stock at day's high. Gail, IOC, BPCL gain by nearly 1%.
BSE Telecom Index gains 1.5%. TTML (+10%), Idea (+3%), Infratel (+2%), Airtel (+1.5%)
IndusInd Bank (-2%) seals the deal to acquire Bharat Financial Inclusion (+3%). Deal values Bharat Financial at Rs 1,118 per share, a premium of 11.5%.
Glenmark Pharma gets ANDA approval for Aprepitant capsules. Stock trades in green.
Some buying activity is seen in Basic Materials, FMCG, Metals, Healthcare, Telecom and Auton sectors in BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 0.17% at 11.24.
Out of 1,973 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,054 advanced, 494 declined, and 425 remained unchanged today.
A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 20 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
