Nifty and Sensex trading marginally low, dragged down by FMCG, Metal, and Healthcare sectors. Power, Realty and Telecom Sector show strong buying, striving to keep the market afloat.
At 10:23 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,574, down by 59 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,221 down by 9 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.34% at 160104.64 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.36% at 17,036.80.
BPCL, HPCL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, YES bank and Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, Bosch, Mahindra & Mahindra and UPL are losing steam on NSE.
Aries Agro stock surges 13.5% for second day after Vijay Kedia buys stake.
DB Realty settles LIC Housing Finance Rs 30.6 crore debt claim. Stock up 1.5%.
Jain Irrigation redeems foreign currency convertible bonds of $40 mn. Stock spurts 3%.
Shares of Jaiprakash Power rose 10% on reports that five investors have put in bids to buy at least a 30% stake in the company.
Shares of GTL Infrastructures rose over 8% as the company's board has considered an allotment of 88.16 mn shares consequent to conversion of 16,250 foreign currency convertible bonds worth $16.25 mn.
Some buying activity is seen in Basic Materials, Telecom and Auto sectors, while FMCG, Metals, Healthcare, and IT sector show weakness in BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up by 2.38% at 11.58.
Out of 1,965 stocks traded on the NSE, 823 advanced, 734 declined, and 408 remained unchanged today.
A total of 53 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 17 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
