Nifty seems to approach the day's high with strong gain from the FMCG, Metal and Telecom sectors. HUL and Reliance drives the market up with nearly 2% gain.
TCS and Induslnd Bank will announce their Q2 numbers today. The release of industrial output numbers and consumer price inflation data is expected during after-market hours.
At 11:59 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,966, up by 132 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,033 up by 48 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.41% at 15,868 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.69% at 16,826.
Hindalco, Infratel, Aurobindo Pharma, Sun Pharma and HUL are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Ultra Cement, Asian Paints, SBI, and Tata Motors are losing steam on NSE.
Zen Tech stock surged 4% after bagging export order worth Rs 64 crore.
Coal India stock down 1% after 13 lakh shares change hands in a block deal.
Prakash Industries stock spurts 4% on securing coal linkage for sponge iron unit.
Nifty Realty Index rallied up by 1% with Indiabulls Real Estate and Sobha gaining by 3% and 2% respectively
Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, Energy, IT, Telecom, and Oil and Gas, Metal, Basic Materials, and Utilities, while Bank Sector shows weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 4.53% at 11.19.
Out of 1,968 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,095 advanced, 474 declined, and 399 remained unchanged today.
A total of 40 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
