Nifty and Sensex trading close to their previous day highs, strong support from Metal and Oil& Gas sectors. Banking Sector erases previous day gains, trading flat as investors book profit.
At 2:58 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,066 up by 24 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,307, up by 12 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.45% at 16,322 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.67% at 17,274.
HPCL, BPCL, Indian Oil, Axis Bank, and Maruti are among the gainers, whereas Indiabulls Housing Finance, HCL Technologies, Power Grid, Ambuja Cement, and ICICI bank are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen in Capital Goods, Metals, Basic Materials, Finance, Industrials, Metals, and Oil&Gas,while FMCG, IT, and Telecom sectors show weakness on the BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 1.25% at 11.61.
Out of 1,972 stocks traded on the NSE, 929 advanced, 736 declined, and 307 remained unchanged today.
A total of 76 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 17 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
