The Indian stock market are trading higher on Wednesday with the Sensex jumping more than 150 points to reclaim the 32,000 mark. The Nifty50 to hit an intraday high of 10,067.25.
On the economy front, Retail investors and domestic financial institutions built up positions a day ahead of the release of data of IIP (Index of Industrial Production) for August and inflation for September.
At 11:30 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,047, up by 122 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,055 up by 38 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.36% at 15992 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.63% at 16999.
Bharti Airtel, Infratel, Bajaj Auto, HPCL and M&M are among the gainers, whereas Dr. Reddy, Ultra Cement, Coal India, Lupin, and Indiabulls Housing Finance are losing steam on NSE.
Lupin acquires Symbiomix Therapeutics for $150 mn cash. Stock down marginally.
L&T Hydrocarbon bags contract worth Rs 1,150 cr from ONGC. L&t stock trades in green.
Bajaj Corp stock gains after 15.6 lakh shares change hands in a block deal.
Some buying activity is seen in basic materials, energy, finance, IT, Telecom, Oil&Gas, industrials and Utilities, and Realty on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 3.10% at 10.7675
