Nifty safely above the 10K level with FMCG stocks showing strong gains. Metal, Realty, and FMCG and Telecom sectors continue to shine, while Bank PSU is hit.
TCS will announce their Q2 numbers today. The release of industrial output numbers and consumer price inflation data is expected during after-market hours.
At 2:15 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,029, up by 195 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,048 up by 63 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.73% at 15,804 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.86% at 16,710.
Hindalco, Infratel, Aurobindo Pharma, Sun Pharma and Reliance are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Ultra Cement, Asian Paints, Infosys, and HPCL are losing steam on NSE.
IndusInd Bank reported its Q2 FY18 numbers. PAT at Rs 880 Cr vs Rs 704 Cr (+25%).
Infratel stock rallies over 6% after 13.8 lakh shares trade in a block on NSE at Rs 436/sh.
NTPC stock rises 1.5% after 1 Cr shares trade in 2 blocks on NSE at Rs 177-177.10/sh.
Zydus gets approval from USFDA for Desvenlafaxine ER. Cadila stock up 2%.
Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, Telecom, Auto, Metal, and Realty on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down by 5.75% at 11.05.
Out of 1,970 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,011 advanced, 606 declined, and 353 remained unchanged today.
A total of 51 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 24 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
