Nifty and Sensex steady after dipping from the fresh-time high in the morning. Telecom, FMCG and Auto sectors show strong growth with Bharti Airtel, HUL, and Tata Motors in the lead.

At 1:58 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,552, up by 119 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,207 up by 40 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.29% at 16013.51 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.20% at 16,959.26.

Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Vedanta Limited, Bosch, and HUL are among the gainers, whereas Indusland Bank, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, HDFC, and Adani Ports are losing steam on NSE.

Bajaj Finance Q2 FY18 (YoY): PAT at Rs 557 vs Rs 408 Cr (+37%). NII at Rs 1,958 Cr vs Rs 1,385 Cr (+41%).

Kansai Nerolac Q2 FY18: PAT at Rs 145 Cr vs Rs 139 Cr. Revenue at Rs 1,162 Cr vs Rs 1,131.5 Cr.

Federal Bank Q2 FY18 (YoY): PAT at Rs 263.7 Cr vs 201 Cr (+31%). NII at Rs 899 Cr vs Rs 726 Cr (+24%). Stock spurts 4%.

Hindalco stock gains 2% after 28 lakh shares worth Rs 77 Cr in two block deals at Rs 272.3 on NSE.

Nifty PSU Bank Index slips nearly 1%. PNB, Syndicate Bank (-2%), BoB, Union Bank, Canara Bank (-1%).


Some buying activity is seen in Basic Materials, FMCG, Metals, Healthcare, Telecom and Auto sectors, while Finance, Bank and Power sector show weakness in BSE.

The INDIA VIX is down by 0.66% at 11.18.

Out of 1,977 stocks traded on the NSE, 769 advanced, 892 declined, and 320 remained unchanged today.

A total of 62 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 26 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
