Nifty and Sensex end on a flat note as the gains of Auto, Reality, and Consumer Durables sector are nullified by the weak Energy, Finance, Telecom, and Utilities sectors. Nifty Auto Index appreciated by 1%, led by a strong gain in Tata Motors (+4.25%).
the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,731, up by 45 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,451 down by 1 point.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.46% at 16,789.79 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.31% at 17,910.90.
Tata Motors, ONGC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infratel, and Wipro are among the gainers, whereas HPCL, Zee Entertainment, Yes Bank, UPL, and Sun Pharma are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen in Auto, Reality and Consumer Durables sectors, whereas Energy, Bank and Power sector show weakness on the BSE.
The India Vix is up by 9.34% at 13.02.
Out of 2,008 stocks traded on the NSE, 817 advanced, 873 declined, and 318 remained unchanged today.
A total of 129 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 18 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Closing Bell: Gainers: ONGC (+4%), M&M (+3%), Infratel (+2%); Losers: HPCL (-3%), ZEEL, Yes Bank, UPL (-2%).
