Nifty and Sensex volatile and loose the morning gains after a fall in Telecom, Energy and Oil & Gas sectors drag the market down. Bharti Airtel continues to lose steam, losing over 4%, while OMCs decline over rising crude oil prices.
the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,372, up by 2 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,343, up by 7 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.20% at 16575.85 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.11% at 17688.31.
Cipla, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, Axis Bank and Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, HPCL, Vedanta Ltd, Reliance, and YES Bank are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen in IT, FMCG, Healthcare, and Teck sectors, whereas Basic Materials, Telecom, Energy, Oil & Gasl sectors show weakness on the BSE.
The India Vix is down by 2.88% at 13.62.
Out of 1,975 stocks traded on the NSE, 895 advanced, 732 declined, and 348 remained unchanged today.
A total of 55 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Arvind stock slips 5% after board approves demerger of engineering division to Anveshan.
TeamLease Services spurts 16% after acquiring stake in Schoolguru.
Tata Elxsi partners BlackBerry for embedded designs. Stock zooms 4%.
