Nifty and Sensex end trade on a negative note, following the sharp decline in Pharma, Metal, and PSU banks index. IT sector soars whereas Lupin weighed down the pharma sector.
the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,370, down by 360 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,350 down by 85 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 1.47% at 16,543.46 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 1.35% at 17,668.37.
HCL, TCS, Infosys, HPCL, and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas UPL, Lupin, Cipla, SBI Bank,and Bharti Airtel are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen was in IT, FMCG, and Teck sectors, whereas Energy, Telecom, Consumer Durables, and Oil & Gas sectors reported weakness on the BSE.
The India Vix is up by 1.65% at 13.23.
Out of 1,975 stocks traded on the NSE, 335 advanced, 1083 declined, and 36 remained unchanged today.
A total of 120 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 24 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
