NSE Nifty closed at 9173 levels, up by 29 points or 0.3%. BSE Sensex closed at 29,647 levels, up by 115 points or 0.3%. There were 1039 advances, 566 declines and 321 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bullish undertone floating in the market.

Adani Ports was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Idea was the top Nifty loser in Thursday’s trading session. Adani Ports closed higher by 6.23% at Rs 341 per share whereas Idea closed lower by 1.8% at Rs 87.3 per share. Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex witnessed sharp gains as the Lok Sabha cleared the Finance Bill which was introduced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Kalpataru Power Transmission extended its rally on Thursday on securing orders worth Rs 1200 crore closing at Rs 319 per share up by Rs 10 per share or 3.3%. HDFC Bank contributed nearly 80% to the Bank Nifty gains. The stock closed at Rs 1460 up by Rs 31 or 2.2%. The Bank Nifty closed at 21620 level, up by 1% in Thursday's trading session.


Gokaldas Exports Limited from the bunch of small-cap stocks on BSE locked in its upper circuit of Rs 67 per share, up by nearly 20%.

Torrent Power Limited form the bunch of mid-cap stocks on BSE closed higher by 6.1% at Rs 235.55 per share.

Small-cap textile stock, JCT Limited closed higher by 13% at Rs 5.13 per share.

Cera Sanitaryware Ltd., closed at Rs 3100 per share, higher by 10.8% in Thursday’s trading session.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd., was the top Sensex gainer, closed at Rs 338.85 per share, up by 5.8%.

Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL's) stocks surged to a 9-year high of Rs 1337.65 per share on the NSE platform, as the investors are looking forward to the release of data related to total number of subscribers for Jio’s prime membership.

The stock pulled up the major indices in the market in positive territory. The stock on the BSE hit its 52-week high of Rs 1336 per share, and was up by 4.2% in Friday’s trade. 

There are 979 advances, 632 declines and 313 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly positive bias floating in the market. Reliance, IOC, Hindalco, Tata Steel and Reliance are among the gainers, whereas Grasim, HDFC, Wipro, Bharti Airtel and Infosys are losing sheen on NSE.

The newly entered Indian Oil Corporation in the Nifty index replacing Idea Cellular Limited is the top Nifty gainer in the index trading higher by 2.8% at Rs 387.3 per share. There are 960 advances, 590 declines and 371 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly positive bias floating in the market.

CL Educate settles at Rs 402 per share in opening session on the BSE platform down by nearly 20% as compared to the issue price of Rs 502 per share. Jindal Steel is in the limelight in the morning hours of trade since it is the top gainer in the metal index trading higher by 3% at Rs 122.65 per share.

The Bank Nifty index, snapping the rally in past few trading sessions is trading lower by 0.4% at 21544.4 levels. The BSE Sensex opened lower by 14 points at 29633, while the Nifty50 opened lower by 14 points at the 9160 mark. HCL Tech is the top Nifty gainer and HDFC Bank is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours on Friday. HCL Tech is trading higher by 1.28% at Rs 887 per share whereas HDFC Bank is trading lower by 1.09% at Rs 1450.15 per share.

The level of 9,185 may act as an immediate resistance for Nifty50 and if it holds above 9,185, it may scale up to levels of 9,220 and 9,280. On the flip side, supports are seen around levels of 9,125-9,135. The rupee opened flat at 64.92 per USD.

Coal India is contributing nearly 50% to the BSE Metal index downfall, with major stock in the index trading in red.Coal India is down by 1.1%, Jindal Steel is down by 0.8%, NMDC is down by 0.8%, Hindalco is down by 0.6%, Hindustan Zinc is down by 0.6% and Tata Steel is down by 0.4%.Meanwhile, National Aluminium is up by 0.4%, Vedanta Steel is up by 0.3% and JSW Steel is up by 0.1%. 

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,560 up 28 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9150 up 6 points. A total of 62 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 22 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.3% at 13973, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.7% at 14303.

Heavyweight telecom stocks are losing ground on the BSE, with Bharti Airtel pulling the BSE Telecom index to its day’s lows. Bharti Airtel is down by 0.5%, Tata Communication is down by 0.4%, Idea is down by 0.4%, Bharti Infratel is down by 0.4%.

Meanwhile, some stocks in the index are trading in green such as, ITI is up by 3.5%, Stretch is up by 2.7%, HFCL is up by 1.6% and TTML is up by 1.5%. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,606 up 75 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9159 up 16 points. A total of 50 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 20 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.4% at 13944, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.8% at 14233.Some buying activity is seen in Realty, FMCG, Utilities, Capital Goods, Energy and Oil & Gas, while Telecom indices are showing weakness on BSE.

The BSE Sensex opened higher by 7 points at 29538, while the Nifty50 opened absolute flat at the 9143 mark. IndusInd Bank is the top Nifty gainer and Axis Bank is the top Nifty loser. IndusInd Bank is trading higher by 0.8% at Rs 1410 per share and Axis Bank is trading lower by 1.46% at Rs 496 per share.

The Automobile stocks are trading with mixed sentiments. Tata Motors is trading down by 0.8% at Rs 465.3 per share. HeroMoto Corp is trading up by 0.6% at Rs 3244 per share. There are 839 advances, 518 declines and 423 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive bias floating in the market.

If Nifty manages to cross the hurdle of 9,175, it has the potential to extend its up move up to the level of 9,220. On the downside, immediate support stands at 9,125-9,135 and breach of this support zone may open gates for correction up to the level of 9,070.

The Rupee opens higher at 64.87 per US dollar against Wednesday's close of 64.90. The US stocks ended Wednesday’s session mostly higher, with Nasdaq Composite registering its fourth consecutive daily gain. The S&P 500 ended the session in the green. However, bucking the trend, Dow Jones Industrial Average closed with modest losses of 42 points at 20,659.

Asian markets are trading subdued on Thursday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 shed 48 points, Hang Seng is trading lower by 82 points and Shanghai Composite is trading with losses of 15 points.

BSE Realty index is the biggest loser among the sectoral indices on BSE. Unitech Limited is the top loser in the index is dragging the index down. The stock is trading down by 2.5% at Rs 5.47 per share.

Bank stocks extended gains in the lunch hours on Wednesday. Orient Bank is the top gainer in the Nifty PSU index. The stock is trading higher by 3.36% at Rs 144.5 per share. Vardhman Special Steels Limited is trading higher by 14% at Rs 135.85 per share. The company has fixed Record Date as April 10, 2017 for the purpose of rights issue of equity shares.

There are 837 advances, 751 declines and 338 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting slightly positive bias floating in the market. At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29498 up 88 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9125 up 25 points. A total of 76 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.3% at 13955, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.5% at 14219. Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Oil & Gas, Energy, Healthcare and Realty are showing weakness on BSE.

Sensex opened higher by 54 points at 29463, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 28 points at the 9128 mark. Tata Power is the top Nifty gainer and IndusInd Bank is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. Tata Power is trading higher by 1.63% at Rs 90.25 per share and IndusInd Bank is trading lower by 0.40% Rs 1398 per share.

There are 1000 advances, 411 declines and 459 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive bias floating in the market. The immediate resistance for Nifty50 is placed in the zone of 9,125-9,135 and a decisive move above these levels may open up for levels of 9,170-9,200. On the downside, 9,060 is a crucial support level.

The Rupee opened at 65.05 per U.S. dollar. Rupee is currently trading at 64.95 per USD. Rupee gained past 65 per USD for 1st time since October 28, 2015. The US stocks finished higher on Tuesday with the Dow Jones Industrial Average snapping an eight day losing streak after US Consumer Confidence Index soared to more than 16-year high. Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 151 points to finish at 20,702. 

The S&P 500 Index gained 17 points to finish at 2,359. The Nasdaq Composite index finished up 35 points at 5,875. Asian markets are trading flat to positive on Wednesday following sharp gains on the Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading flat, while Hang Seng is trading higher by 82 points and Shanghai Composite is trading flat.
