BSE Realty index is the biggest loser among the sectoral indices on BSE. Unitech Limited is the top loser in the index is dragging the index down. The stock is trading down by 2.5% at Rs 5.47 per share.

Bank stocks extended gains in the lunch hours on Wednesday. Orient Bank is the top gainer in the Nifty PSU index. The stock is trading higher by 3.36% at Rs 144.5 per share. Vardhman Special Steels Limited is trading higher by 14% at Rs 135.85 per share. The company has fixed Record Date as April 10, 2017 for the purpose of rights issue of equity shares.

There are 837 advances, 751 declines and 338 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting slightly positive bias floating in the market. At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29498 up 88 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9125 up 25 points. A total of 76 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.3% at 13955, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.5% at 14219. Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Oil & Gas, Energy, Healthcare and Realty are showing weakness on BSE.

Bharti Infratel, Tata Power, Asian Paints, State Bank of India and Ambuja Cements are among the gainers, whereas Grasim, Tech Mahindra, Aurobindo Pharma, Wipro and M&M are losing sheen on NSE.
