Nifty opened at 9207.80 mark, up by 54.10 points or 0.59%; while Sensex moved over 200 points in opening trade but soon after pared its gains, wherein the benchmark index was trading at 29,708.51 levels, up by 122 points.

Sector wise, BSE FMCG, Power and Metal indices were trading up by 2%, 0.3% and 0.7% respectively. ITC rallied over 6%, and is the top Sensex gainer in the opening session, heavily contributing to the index gains.

While, the Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 65.45 per dollar today against previous close of 65.41.
