The BSE Sensex opened higher by 64.07 points at 29301, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 36 points at the 9081 mark. ICICI Bank is the top Nifty gainer and ITC Limited is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. ICICI Bank is trading higher by 1.13% at Rs 276.25 per share and ITC Limited is trading lower by 0.36% Rs 280.6 per share.

There are 1064 advances, 364 declines and 435 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive bias floating in the market. Nifty50, after forming a Doji candle, followed it up with a bearish candle on the daily chart. However, now Nifty50 is inching close to its crucial support area, i.e. the zone of 8,980-9,000. On the upside, the levels of 9,100-9,120 will play a key hurdle. However, if Nifty50 sustains above 9,100-9,120-mark, it is likely to scale up to the level of 9,180.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average marked its longest losing streak since August 2011 with eight straight losses, closing down 46 points on Monday at 20,551. However, it pared some of the losses, as at one point, the Dow was down by over 180 points. The S&P 500 slipped 2 points to close at 2,342. The Nasdaq Composite closed with marginal gains of 12 points at 5,840. 

Majority of the Asian markets are trading on a cheerful note on Tuesday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading with gains of 194 points. Hang Seng is trading higher by 117 points but Shanghai Composite has slipped by 3 points.
