Infosys and ITC are dragging the Sensex down. Infosys is contributing nearly 80% to the index losses. Infosys is down by 1.6% and ITC is down by 0.6% Tata Steel is the top Sensex loser and the stock is down by nearly 2%.
BSE Metal stocks are losing ground on bourses, with major stocks in the index are trading in red. Hindalco is down by 2.7%, Hindustan Zinc is down by 2%, Vedanata Steel is down by 1.9% and Sail is down by 1.2%.Hindalco is the major contributor to the index losses and dragging the index down to its lows.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29006 down 41 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8945 down 17 points. A total of 31 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.1% at 13502, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.01% at 13669.
