Market has extended its losses further in the closing hour on Friday. Nifty breached 9,700 level in the closing hour and touched its intraday low of 9,686. State Bank of India is the top loser in Nifty and Sensex. The stock is down by nearly 5.5% at Rs 280.25 per share.
Bank Nifty was trading at 23,955 level, down by 261 points or 1.08%. Bank of Baroda is second top loser in the index trading at Rs 142.85 per share, down by 3.77%. PNB, Canara Bank and IDFC Bank were also trading in negative territory down by over 1%.
There were 517 advances, 1,129 declines and 303 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly negative sentiments floating in the market. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,190 down 340 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,702 down 117 points. A total of 6 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 203 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
