Nifty opened at 9,945 level, up by 27 points while Sensex opened at 31,919 level, up by 50 points.Infosys was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 1009 per share, up by 3.47% whereas Kotak Mahindra Bank was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 993.55 per share, down by 0.70%. India VIX was trading at 14.49 level, up by 1.8%. Bank Nifty index was trading down by 100 points at 24,337 level.

On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index was trading at 15,338 level, up by 55 points while BSE Small-cap index was trading at 15,682 level, up by 70 points.Currency market will remain closed on account of Parsi new year.
