Market closed marginally higher amidst volatile trade. Benchmark indices namely Nifty ended Thursday’s trade at 9,900 level gaining 6 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed higher gaining 24 points at 31,795 level. Infosys was the top Nifty gainer on Thursday’s trade.Infosys closed higher by 4.83% at Rs 1,022.30 per share. L&T closed lower by 0.76% at Rs 1,133 per share.
On sectoral indices front, Consumer Durables, IT, Metals and Oil & Gas ended on a positive note. Meanwhile, Auto, Bank Nifty, Capital Goods, FMCG and Healthcare closed lower.BSE Mid-cap index closed lower by 0.35% at 15,228. BSE Small-cap index closed higher by 0.54% at 15,695. India VIX closed higher by 1.53% at 11.There were 907 advances, 725 declines and 328 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a mild positive undertone floating in the market. Infosys, NTPC and Coal India are the top Nifty gainers, whereas Cipla, ACC and Maruti Suzuki India are the top Nifty losers.
