Markets ended in negative territory on Tuesday’s trade. BSE Sensex lost nearly 260 points or 0.80% and ended at almost 2-week closing low at 32,014 level and Nifty slipped 78 points or 0.78% at 9,978 level.Nifty Bank lost over 300 points or 1.23% at 24,534 level. Bank of Baroda was the top index loser.
BSE Mid-cap index closed lower by 1.20% at 15,413. BSE Small-cap index closed lower by 1.30% at 15,900. India VIX closed higher by 7.35% at 12.7.There were 359 advances, 1,308 declines and 275 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting a negative undertone floating in the market.Hindalco, Vedanta and Cipla were the top Nifty gainers, whereas Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, BPCL and Bharti Infratel were the top Nifty losers. The realty stocks took a beating on the bourses during Tuesday’s trade. HDIL was the top loser on BSE. The stock breached lower circuit of Rs 58.95 per share. The stock closed lower by 18.75% at Rs 56.35 per share.
