Nifty now finds support around 9700 which was the June resistance and faces strong resistance around 9850. There are only 173 advances, 1378 declines and 379 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting bears are in full control of the market.Nifty Auto index was top loser among sectoral indices on NSE. The index was trading at 10,467 level, down by 138 points or 1.31%. Eicher Motors was top loser in the index trading at Rs 29,300 per share, down by Rs 811 per share or 2.7%. Other auto stocks including Motherson Sumi, Tata Motors, TVS Motors, Apollo Tyre were trading down by over 2%.
Tata Motors has extended losses to trade at Rs 371.15 per share, down by 2.38%.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,240 down 285 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,728 down 92 points. A total of 5 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 192 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 1.11% at 14,592, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 1.57% at 14,834.
All the sectoral indices on BSE have been witnessing selling pressure.Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Lupin and Bharti Airtel are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, Hindalco, Cipla and ONGC are losing sheen on NSE.The INDIA VIX is up 8.22% at 14.93.
