IT majors, Infosys and TCS were trading higher despite major indices in the market were trading lower in morning hour on Wednesday. Metal stocks were also gaining grounds in the morning hour. National Aluminium Company was trading higher by 3.29% at Rs 72.2 per share. Other metal stocks like Hindalco, Jindal Steel and Vedanta were trading higher by more than 2%.
There were 408 advances, 1116 declines and 409 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong negative sentiments floating in the market. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,915 down 98 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,953 down 25 points. A total of 15 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 64 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
