FMCG index opened, gaining most, at 22582.80 levels up by 0.38%. Heavyweight player in the FMCG sector, ITC opened higher by 0.48% at Rs 271 per share. Hindustan Unilever Limited opened higher by 0.4% at Rs 857.50 per share.
Idea Cellular Limited is back in the green, touching a high of Rs 114.80 per share up by 6.89% in the early morning hours on Thursday’s trading session. IDFC has cut its lending rate by 10 to 60 bps. The stock is trading with a negative bias and is down by 0.3%. Yes Bank also cut its lending rate by 10 bps.
Dhampur Sugar Mills Limited touched its new 52-week high of Rs 189.30 per share up by 2.93% in the early morning today. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28156.66 up 15.02 points, while NSE Nifty is trading flat at 8716.4. A total of 37 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 4 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.70% at 13176.56, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 13201.76. Some buying activity is seen in Energy, FMCG and Healthcare, while Information Technology, Auto and Metal are showing weakness on BSE.
Idea, ITC, Bharti Airtel, ONGC and NTPC are among the gainers, whereas M&M, Bosch, Tata Motors, Hindalco and Wipro are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour. The INDIA VIX is down 2.08% at 13.68.
